| Descripción: Tomb of Nakht, in Qurna, at the West of Tebas. Dynasty XVIII, about 1490 before Christ. The desert valley, today Deir el Bahari, was the place where every year the god Ammon used to go to beget a son with Hathor. A pilgrimage and a big banquet were celebrated, with many offerings, before the king, to whom all the inhabitants of the Tebaida used to go, called the “beautiful party of the desert valley”. The funereal banquet was made more pleasant by musicians and female dancers, harp, lute, cymbal and sistro players. It is remarkable the quality of the painting, which uses no longer the plain colour and the pure line, and it is richer concerning colours instead, and also, the usage of thev” veladura” and formal and new compositions. |
