Descripción: Representation of Artemis, the twin sister of Apollo and Lady of the animals, with the Bella style, whose cult was developed in the Artemision of Efeso. The iconography is complex, so far considered Polimasta, with many breasts; other authors state that the protuberances represent the dates of a plam-tree to which her mother Leto, when she was giving birth, held, symbol of fertility, or the testicles o fox sacrified in rituals propitiatory of virility, which could be hanging from hooks put on to the wooden xoanon. Descripción: Tomb of Nakht, in Qurna, at the West of Tebas. Dynasty XVIII, about 1490 before Christ. The desert valley, today Deir el Bahari, was the place where every year the god Ammon used to go to beget a son with Hathor. A pilgrimage and a big banquet were celebrated, with many offerings, before the king, to whom all the inhabitants of the Tebaida used to go, called the “beautiful party of the desert valley”. The funereal banquet was made more pleasant by musicians and female dancers, harp, lute, cymbal and sistro players. It is remarkable the quality of the painting, which uses no longer the plain colour and the pure line, and it is richer concerning colours instead, and also, the usage of thev” veladura” and formal and new compositions.

Descripción: Tumba de Sennedjem, entre 1.306 y 1.290 a .C. Las escenas agrícolas en la decoración funeraria tiene un carácter narrativo y se disponen secuencialmente en planos verticales. Magnífica ilustración de la vida cotidiana, aquí podemos ver, en hermosos tonos cálidos que sugieren la luminosidad del verano, a un agricultor que separa las gavillas del lino seguido por su esposa, que seguramente las ata. El lino era un tejido muy apreciado y de múltiples aplicaciones, cuyo cultivo estaba muy extendido gracias al fecundo limo del padre Nilo.

Descripción: Tomb of ramose. About 1380 before Christ. The complex funereal ceremonies were absolutely ritualised. We can see a group of offerers in front of the meeting of mourners attired with blue lineal cloaks: the setting of the group and the gesture of each of them raising their arms and looking at the sky is an stereotype, a proclamation of pain but at the same time an act of pleading, whose contents are told calligraphically. On the original fresco painting the scene is integrated in a procession where the people that take part in it are placed in perfect order holding three-lotus bunches.

Descripción: Tomb of Nakht or Najt. Qurna, west of Tebas. About 1490 before Christ. Nakht was a scribe of Tutmosis IV, and also an astronomer. His rich tomb is decorated with scenes of hunting of birds on the shores of the Nile , between high lotus leaves, grape harvest, most treading and filling of the amphoras. Leafy vines plenty of grape bunches are located forming a high arch, under which two characters fill the baskets. The fresh narrative of the scene is almost bucolic, as it shows abundance and the work seems gratifying, inside a generous nature.

The Greek-Aegyptian artists of the Fayum used to paint with the technic encaustic , that is, with wartered-down wax, and on the board the portraits of the deceased, using it to cover the face between the strips of their mummies. Some have a great artistic quality, although up to four styles have been established. The young woman, with expressive look, remarks her beauty wearing a simple gown.

Portrait of a young lady, oval face and beautiful eyes, maybe of Greek.Egyptian ethnic, with very natural hairstyle and necklace on the thin neck. The most well-known of thses portraits come from the nechropoli of El Fayum, plain located to the southeast of El Cairo, agricultural rich area since the Antiquity. Some portraits come from some other places such as Antinoópolis, Philadelphia, Hawara and Akhmin. The first example of we have heard was discovered in El Fayum, in 1615, by the traveller Pietro Della Valle and at the end of the XIX century, when Fliners Petrie was digging in that place, the portraits were already around several European countries and United States.
